The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the Councilor for Quality of Urban Services, Sandra Sánchez, have visited this morning together with residents of the urbanization, the construction works of an accessible pedestrian walkway between the nearby cul-de-sac to Joaquín García Sánchez street, at the confluence with the Jardín del Mar III Urbanization, an area known as Doña Inés, due to the obvious need to transit through an area with a significant drop of 1.5 meters.

The works, which have an execution budget of 9,707 euros, began last Monday, June 28, and are expected to be fully completed over the next week.

This adopted solution of building an accessible wooden walkway will allow you to move through the area safely and comfortably, according to current regulations on accessibility to the urban environment.

The works that are being carried out consist of the installation of a ramp of 27 meters in length and 1.5 meters in width, which will be composed of three sections of 6 meters with an 8% slope, also having their corresponding plateaus according to accessibility regulations. The platform is made up of non-slip grooved boards along the entire length of the ramp. In addition, the placement of railings on both sides is included in the action and all the hardware will be made of steel protected against corrosion.

Together with the action area and for the correct execution of the ramp construction works, AGAMED will carry out the modification of a section of the drinking water network, thus allowing the execution of the staircase adjacent to the existing wall.

This simple action meets the numerous demands that the residents of Doña Inés and neighboring urbanizations have been demanding from the previous government team. Eduardo Dolón and Sandra Sánchez have held a meeting with part of the residents of the area, who have conveyed the needs and demands they have to improve the infrastructure of the urbanization.
