The Councilor for Commerce, Hospitality and Industry, Rosario Martínez, together with the director of the University Headquarters of the University of Alicante (UA) in Torrevieja, José Norberto Mazón; Marco Celdrán , coordinator of the UA Intelligent Tourism Laboratory, and Olimpia Alcaraz, David Tomás and Alberto Berenguer, researchers of the study carried out; and accompanied by the president and vice president of APYMECO, Jorge Almarcha and Pedro García, have presented the results of the study "The impact of the bonoconsumo in Torrevieja", an initiative of the Alicante Science Park, in collaboration with InferIA.

The analysis that has been carried out is of four editions of the consumer voucher, where the participation of 30,847 residents who have been part of this initiative of the Department of Commerce of the Torrevieja City Council stands out. Regarding the local establishments that have participated, the investigation indicates that 416 have joined, thus reflecting the acceptance and participation of this municipal initiative by both merchants and hoteliers as well as residents.

The data indicates that "33.63% of the residents of Torrevieja have participated in at least one edition of the consumer voucher". As for the businesses in which these vouchers have been exchanged, the study shows that they have been widely distributed among various types of retail purchases, with household appliance stores, restaurants, and furniture stores occupying the top positions. .

The conclusions of the study are clear and show the positive impact that the consumer voucher has had on the local economy, highlighting the importance of adapting to the preferences of residents and highlighting the usefulness of using external data to make decisions that promote development and the prosperity of Torrevieja. As additional recommendations, the research suggests continuing to carry out periodic studies to monitor the evolution of the bonconsumo and adjust the strategies based on changes in consumption patterns and the needs of the community.
