The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Federico Alarcón, accompanied by the manager of the concessionaire company (EYSA), Javier Basoco, visited the new Municipal Vehicle Depot this morning, located in a land owned by the City Council with a surface area of 7,000 square meters, between the Fire Station, the Ecopark and the Municipal Animal Shelter.

The mayor highlighted that for the first time in the history of the city the vehicle depot is owned by the City Council, which also represents savings for the municipal coffers.

This new vehicle depot has involved an investment of 521,276 euros, and is included in the award of the “Service for removing vehicles from public roads, depositing and safekeeping them, as well as placing and removing fences and mobile signage in public roads". A service that began in January 2022 awarded to the company ESTACIONACIONES Y SERVICIOS, SAU (EYSA) for a total price of 3,549,999 euros (VAT included).

The new warehouse, in which 16 people work, is located on a plot with better communication and access than the previous one, and a capacity to house 219 storage spaces. In addition, pedestrian and vehicular access are independent, generating a safe itinerary for pedestrians inside the lot from the payment point to the location of their vehicle.

The warehouse also has all the urban services necessary to carry out the activity, as well as areas for cleaning, maintenance and storage of rolling stock, the installation of a video surveillance system and an automated access control system with license plate reader and self-assessment.
