The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, accompanied by the regional secretary of Education, Daniel McEvoy, the director of the CEIP Inmaculada, Eva María Atienza, and those responsible for the company awarded the works, have visited the works of the new Inmaculada public school.

The works, which began in June 2023 with the complete demolition of the old school center, are at a very good pace and it is expected to open its doors in September, coinciding with the beginning of the 2024/2025 school year, despite that its execution period ends in December 2024. At this time, the structures of the new school are practically finished and their closures will be carried out soon.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has thanked the regional secretary of Education of the Generalitat Valenciana for attending this first works visit and has shown his satisfaction for the speed in their execution.

The new CEIP Inmaculada has an investment of 7.3 million euros and includes the construction of 6 Early Childhood Education units, 12 Primary Education units, a dining room for 400 people in two shifts, a gym and spaces adapted to offer all the required educational services. for the community.

It is built on a plot of more than 6,000 square meters and will have a total constructed area of 4,600 square meters, of which 3,000 will be dedicated to free spaces for the enjoyment of students, with play areas, landscaping, a sports court and porches.

The new school center, carried out by Orthem Servicios y Actuaciones Environmentales , will generate almost zero energy expenditure and will allow a considerable reduction in the carbon footprint of the educational center. Thus, the new infrastructure will incorporate a solar panel system that will cover a greater part of the building. In addition, the center will have a design that will maximize the use of natural light and will have an efficient air conditioning system that will guarantee proper air renewal in all its classrooms.
