The Department of Festivities of the Torrevieja City Council has presented the bases with which the process for the election of the new Queen of Salt and her Ladies of Honor begins. It does so after having extended, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for one year the current Queen and Samas 2019/2020, Raquel Tévar, María Cases and Cristy Guamán, respectively.

The mayor of Fiestas has highlighted that "after the Torrevieja carnival has celebrated the recent declaration of a festival of Autonomous Tourist Interest of the Valencian Community, it is intended to offer a sample of our parties in summer for Torrevieja residents and for all visitors who are days they share their vacations in our city ”.

It will be next Sunday, August 1, and due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization has been forced to suppress the programming of all events that favored the largest concentration of the public, such as dances, gift raffles and the procession through the streets of the Plaza del Calvario area.

The councilor secretary of the Local Government Board (JGL) of the Torrevieja City Council, Federico Alarcón, has reported that the Government Meeting held this morning has approved the contract file for the maintenance, conservation and repair of public roads of the Torrevieja municipal area, especially those that are part of the traffic road and sidewalks, and also including pedestrian paths and, in general, elements of public domain and use that the PGOU qualifies as such, whether they are urbanized or not, excluding the areas green that in the same way the PGOU qualifies as such, except for those services that are already included in some other maintenance contract (public lighting, traffic lights, road signs etc ...).
