YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS AWARD COMPETITION, 17TH EDITION. 2026 YEAR

The call for entries for the "Young Entrepreneurs" awards of the Torrevieja City Council, 17th Edition, 2026, has been published once again.

The 2026 Young Entrepreneurs Awards are part of the actions carried out by the Department of Employment, Local Development and Entrepreneurship, through the Local Development Agency, with the   The purpose is to recognize the work of young entrepreneurs linked to the city who have developed or launched business projects.

The awards have the following specific objectives: to promote entrepreneurship among the residents of Torrevieja; to boost the cooperative and social economy; to foster social recognition of entrepreneurs; to promote a positive image of businesspeople as generators of wealth and employment; to encourage innovation as a competitive business strategy, as well as the creation of companies and services related to the tourism sector, local commerce, new technologies, building conservation and rehabilitation, the environment, sports, culture, leisure and free time; to reward individuals with entrepreneurial initiative who have started a new business; and to provide support and backing to entrepreneurs who have begun their business activity, thereby stimulating the creation of new businesses and new jobs within the Torrevieja municipality's economy.

Individuals or legally constituted legal entities that meet the following requirements may participate in this competition:

In the case of individuals (sole proprietor and limited liability entrepreneur):

• To be registered in the municipality of Torrevieja.
• Be no older than 35 years old as of September 8, 2026 (the date on which the deadline for submitting applications to this competition ends).

In the case of for-profit legal entities:

• Having its tax and social domicile in the municipality of Torrevieja.
• At least half of the people who make it up must be a maximum of 35 years old as of September 8, 2026 (the date on which the deadline for submitting to this competition ends), and these must be the ones who hold at least 51% of the company's share capital.

The right to submit nominations does not apply to any public entity, private entities with public participation, as well as associations or other non-profit entities.

Projects may be submitted, understood as companies that are legally constituted between 01/09/2025 and 31/08/2026 .

• The projects may deal with activities and services related to the tourism sector, local commerce, new technologies, conservation and rehabilitation of buildings, environment, sports, culture, leisure and free time.

• The project will be considered legally constituted:

5. In the case of a legal entity, when the registration in the corresponding public registry (commercial registry, registry of cooperative societies…), the tax registration and the registration in the corresponding social security scheme are presented.
5. In the case of a natural person (sole entrepreneur), when the registration with the tax authorities and the registration in the corresponding social security or professional mutual insurance scheme are presented.
5. In the case of a natural person (Limited Liability Entrepreneur), in addition to the requirements of the previous point, it will be necessary to register the status of limited liability entrepreneur in the Commercial Registry and in the Property Registry.
5. All actions referred to in order to understand the legally constituted project must have been carried out within the period between 01/09/2025 and 31/08/2026.

The following prizes and amounts are established:

5. First prize : 7,000 euros
5. Second prize : 3,500 euros
5. Third prize : 1,500 euros.

The aforementioned amounts will be subject to any applicable taxes in accordance with current legislation, and it is the responsibility of the winners to declare the prizes as appropriate in the tax to which they are subject.

A formal awards ceremony will be held. Winners will be informed of the ceremony well in advance and are expected to attend.

Today, May 21, 2026, the announcement of the approval of the call and specific rules regulating the young entrepreneurs award competition, XVII edition, 2026, is published.

The application period will open with the publication of the call in the BOP of Alicante, a circumstance that will be reported in this same section.
