Torrevieja City Council approves the call for applications for grants for young university students for the 2025/2026 academic year
The Torrevieja City Council has launched a new call for applications for grants aimed at university students in the municipality, with the goal of facilitating access to and continuation of their higher education. These grants, which will be awarded on a competitive basis, will cover tuition fees, textbooks, and public transportation (bus and train) for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The call for applications has been approved, but is still pending publication in the Official Gazette of Alicante, a circumstance that is expected to occur in the first week of September.

Object:
These specific rules are intended to govern the procedure for granting aid, under a competitive bidding system, to finance the current expenses of tuition, textbooks and public transport (bus and train) for the 2025/2026 academic year for those students who meet the conditions indicated in Rule Five.
Requirements:
These grants can be requested by any resident of Torrevieja, who is 35 years of age or older and is currently studying any of the courses of the Spanish university system adapted to the European Higher Education Area leading to official Bachelor's degrees, or equivalent, and official Master's studies.
The remaining requirements that the beneficiaries must meet are set out in Section Five of the call for applications.
Amount:
The maximum aid to be granted will be up to €1,500.
The stated amount corresponds to the maximum amount that may be paid to the beneficiary upon justification of the expenses incurred. Under no circumstances may the amount of aid exceed the amount of expenses justified by the beneficiaries.
Submission deadline:
The deadline for submitting applications for aid will be 10 business days, starting from the date the application period opens. This period will open the day after the publication of the summary of this call for applications in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (BOP).
Place of presentation:
Applications must be submitted in person at the General Registry of the Torrevieja City Council or electronically through the Electronic Office of the Torrevieja City Council , in accordance with the right of individuals to interact with the administration in the way they wish (electronic or paper format, according to their preferences).
Documents to be submitted with the application:
The application must be accompanied by the documentation indicated in Section Ten of the call for applications.
The publication of the call for applications in the Official Gazette of Alicante is scheduled to take place in the first week of September .
