The Councilor for Education of the Torrevieja City Council, Ricardo Recuero, has released this morning the data for the start of the 2021/2022 school year, which will begin next Wednesday, September 8, with a total of 10,662 students / as and with 100% presence of students in the classrooms. -Children's students: 1878 students. 83 units -Primary students: 4456 students. 183 units -Secondary students: 2,895 students. 106 units -Baccalaureate and FP: 1433 students. 36 Recuero units highlighted that throughout the school year the health measures for the prevention of COVID-19 will be maintained, such as the daily cleaning service during school hours, the COVID-19 health advice to schools, and 12,000 masks will be distributed by all the centers of the town.

NEW PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS FOR THIS SCHOOL COURSE

The Councilor for Education has announced new projects and programs for this 2021/2022 school year, among which are programs for the detection, prevention and monitoring of school absenteeism and bullying.

Another novelty is the EL COLE EN EL MAR program, in which 4th year Primary students will receive water sports classes (sailing, rowing, paddle surfing, etc.) at the city's maritime facilities. Likewise, in collaboration with the Mastral Project, EL TIEMPO EN EL COLE will be launched, through which classes and activities in meteorology, astronomy, sustainable development will be implemented, and students will have the opportunity to observe the stars, planets, etc.

Ricardo recuero has also announced that, through an agreement with AGAMED, students will be able to carry out activities framed in the 2030 Agenda through sustainable management projects. The TORREVIEJA TALKS project will also be developed, training families and teachers, with highly experienced speakers and with a variety of topics of interest.

The Department of Education will also continue developing the program TORREVIEJA, CITY OF GIRLS AND CHILDREN, following the activities of the Children's Council and the proposals for municipal management; as well as CIUDAD EDUCADORA, with the act of Education Day, on November 30.

Finally, Ricardo Recuero has reported that the end of the school year will be June 21, 2022 (Infant and Primary) and June 17, 2022 (ESO, FP, Bachelor and Cycles). The local non-school days will be: October 11 and December 7, 2021 and February 28, 2022.
