The councilor-secretary of the Local Government Board of the Torrevieja City Council, Federico Alarcón, has reported that this morning the JGL has approved the acquisition of a wheelchair lift with wheels and battery for use by people with reduced mobility in the municipal public swimming pools of the Sports City.

The Councilor for Sports, Diana Box, has reported that a smaller contract has been awarded to the company SERVICIOS INTEGRALES MIMAS SL for a total amount of 7,722 (VAT included).

The mayor of Sports indicates that the acquisition of this lift chair is so that it can be used in the different municipal swimming pools with people with reduced mobility, so that in this way they have access to said swimming pools and can practice the sport of swimming, perform rehabilitation exercises or any other aquatic activity aimed at these people with reduced mobility.

Diana Box has highlighted that the Torrevieja City Council intends to guarantee people with reduced mobility equal opportunities in relation to universal accessibility and design for all, with respect to environments, processes, goods, products and services, as well as in relation to objects and devices, so that they are practicable and usable by all people in equal conditions of safety and comfort, and in the most autonomous and natural way possible.
