The British colony will celebrate on Friday, in a solemn act, the "Poppy Day" (Day of the Poppy)

This coming Friday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., the commemorative act of Remember Day (Poppy Day), organized by the Royal British Legion in collaboration with the City Council of Torrevieja, will be held in the Archpriest Parish of the Immaculate Conception, and that will be attended by the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the Councilor for International Residents, Gitte Lund, and the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Tourism, Rosario Martínez.

This solemn and patriotic act of the British colony residing in our town, which is celebrated annually on the 11th day of the 11th month, at 11:00 am, since 1920 in all the towns and cities of Great Britain, is organized a another year by the veterans of the Royal British Legion, chaired by Pam Wilding, in which, as in previous editions, veterans of the British Navy and Air Force also participate. This year there will also be the presence of State Corps and Security authorities, as well as the Army.

The commemorative mass for this important event will be officiated by the pastor of the Anglican Church in Torrevieja, Father Richard Seabrook, to later make an emotional floral offering in the Plaza de la Constitución in memory of those who have fallen in war and terrorism.
