The councilor for NGOs and Volunteering, Concha Sala, and the councilor for Tourism and deputy mayor of Torrevieja, Rosario Martínez, together with the president of APANEE, Mª José Sánchez, the president of the Santiago Apóstol de Torrevieja Pilgrims' Guild, Antonio Tomás Rebollo, and the presidents of the Rotary clubs of Torrevieja and Guardamar del Segura, Mª Ángeles Pérez and Teodoro Rodríguez, have presented the initiative "Come walk with us" for the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, from June 23 to 29.
It is an initiative that aims to make the path accessible to all those who have a physical, mental or sensory disability, and wish to be able to enjoy this activity by making a pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. It will consist of 5 stages, between 14 and 15 kilometers a day, which will cover the French-Galician path starting from Sarriá to the tomb of the apostle.
An expedition of 35 people will accompany these children and young people that will begin on June 24 and which is scheduled to arrive in Santiago de Compostela on June 28, where they will be received by the president of the Xunta de Galicia, the archbishop of Santiago, the dean of the cathedral and the president of the universal archconfraternity of the Apostle Santiago.
Starting tomorrow, a distribution of ballots will begin for a solidarity raffle to collaborate with the initiative, through a donation of €2, and where you can get a large batch of gifts with the ballot that matches the last four figures of the draw of the ONCE of June 24 special night of San Juan. The ballots can be purchased through APANEE and its associates, as well as in the establishments that adhere.
