The Local Government Board (JGL) approved this morning the consolidated valuation report of the site on which the current Torrevieja bus station is located (specific modification 110 of the General Urban Planning Plan -PGOU-), presented by the company TÉCNICOS EN TASACIÓN SA, within the Framework Agreement, Lot 18 (Lot of urban valuations and Appraisal Lot).

The report includes the acquisition value of the land occupied by the bus station, which has an area of 2,253 square meters, with the estimated value of the valuation being 4,588,207 euros.

Everything is part of a modification of the PGOU that the Torrevieja City Council is promoting and which aims to modify the classification of the plot delimited by Antonio Machado, Patricio Zammit, Vicente Blasco Ibáñez and del Mar streets. This plot is classified by the PGOU as a private equipment of the general transportation system.

The need to process the modification by the City Council is motivated by the future demolition of the Bus Station for its transfer to another more suitable location. This operation will result in a plot that, due to its location and the need to provide the urban fabric with a recreation area, requires a modification of its urban classification to green zone.

Furthermore, it should be noted that, in addition to the above, there is an enormous volume of pedestrian traffic in the area due to the proximity of facilities such as the courts, the Civil Guard barracks, hospitality establishments and Mercadona. A neighborhood of Torrevieja that also has a high density of buildings, which makes it necessary to increase the green spaces adjacent to the axis that makes up Avenida de las Habaneras.
