The bell

“The Recycling Challenge” aims to demystify the hoaxes around recycling and raise awareness among the population of its importance for caring for the environment and the planet. An animation and training team will approach citizens to share with them the commitment to correctly separate and recycle cans, cartons and plastic containers in the yellow container, as well as paper and cardboard, in the blue container. They will do so through recreational activities and environmental education, as well as informative and awareness-raising talks in educational centers for various neighborhood groups, previously selected.

The action is proposed as a competition between municipalities that are part of the Vega Baja Sostenible Consortium to increase the use of the yellow container, by at least 10% on average, during the two months following the campaign period, compared to the data from the same period of the year 2023.

The campaign pursues face-to-face interaction with the citizen and all actions are directed at the organizations, traditions and culture of the geographical area on which the action is taken. It is about the institutions, organizations, social and sports clubs, associations and educational centers of each locality being participants and promoters of the initiative. Their on-site actions will allow us to reach the greatest possible number of neighbors and homes in order to multiply the results of the campaign: correctly inform and resolve doubts to increase the correct separation of waste and make its subsequent recycling possible.
