The project for the renovation of the sewerage system in the El Limonar urbanization has been approved

The Councillor for Urban Services of the Torrevieja City Council, Sandra Sánchez, reports that this morning, Friday 7 February, the Local Government Board (JGL) approved the project to renew the sewerage network in the El Limonar urbanisation, presented by the mixed company of the integral water cycle AGAMED.
Sandra Sánchez points out that the El Limonar sewerage system has old concrete networks that present a multitude of deficiencies such as structural deterioration, root ingress, fissures, breaks and displaced joints, which is why it is considered necessary to renew the existing sewerage network and connections on Avenida de España, Avenida de las Grullas and Gran Avenida, with connections to the existing network on the western edge road.
The works are being carried out in order to eliminate the current deficiencies of the network, as well as to increase its hydraulic capacity, creating a new installation with a larger diameter than the current one that will solve the problems of evacuation of flows and deterioration of the network.
The aim is to renew all the networks affected by deficiencies, in order to eliminate the evacuation problems, avoid possible breakages of the pipes with the consequent risk of discharges into the street, and contribute to having adequate facilities for their maintenance.
The planned work, with a total budget of 414,231.35 euros and a completion period of 6 months, includes the renewal of approximately 666 metres of Ø315 mm PVC pipe, the construction of 25 new manholes, the renewal of 49 sewer connections and the subsequent resurfacing of the entire width of the roadway of the sections to be worked on, which exceeds 4,400 m2.
Once the works have been awarded, the Verification Report for the Layout will be signed in order to begin their execution in the near future.
