TM Grupo Inmobiliario will provide a donation of 20,000 euros for the payment of the rent, in whole or in part, of the selected family units, which will be managed by the Red Cross in coordination with the social services of the Torrevieja City Council.

The Torrevieja City Council, TM Grupo Inmobiliario and the Spanish Red Cross have signed a collaboration agreement to promote a Residential Exclusion Prevention project in the town, an initiative that seeks to guarantee access to decent housing for people in vulnerable situations. The agreement was signed by the Councillor for Social Welfare and Housing, Óscar Urtasun; Ángeles Serna, President of TM Grupo Inmobiliario; and Francisco Galvañ, President of the Alicante Red Cross.

Óscar Urtasun has reported that the agreement reached consists of promoting the necessary conditions to improve the quality of life of citizens, encouraging attention to people and/or family units registered in the municipality of Torrevieja who need support to access or remain in their usual home, and who have difficulties or cannot meet the requirements to access the municipality's regulated housing aid system and/or any financial aid intended for this purpose.

The Councillor for Social Welfare and Housing specified that this agreement will last for one year, extendable to successive years, with priority in access to this programme given to family units with dependent minors, family units with dependent persons or those with severe disabilities, homeless people, people who have been evicted and urgently need support to access housing, victims of any type of violence who need new accommodation and those people in a situation of special vulnerability duly assessed by basic primary care social services.

The agreement includes a contribution of 20,000 euros from TM, which will be used to pay the beneficiaries' rent, managed by the Red Cross in coordination with the social services of Torrevieja City Council.

During the signing of the agreement, Ángeles Serna, president of TM Grupo Inmobiliario, highlighted that “we are very proud to continue promoting this type of public-private agreements in the communities where we are present, thus responding to one of the commitments of our Corporate Responsibility Master Plan. I hope that this initiative can inspire more economic and social agents who want to join it to ensure that these agreements have a greater impact and thus help more people in situations of housing vulnerability .

For his part, Francisco Galvañ, president of the Alicante Red Cross, said that at the Red Cross we serve families at serious risk of residential exclusion in Torrevieja, so we greatly value this alliance, which will contribute to improving the quality of life of people who cannot access housing due to lack of resources. Therefore, this initiative deserves all our recognition for its great social value for the city.”
