"The Play That Goes Wrong" comes to Torrevieja: A hilarious comedy for all audiences

The Torrevieja Municipal Theatre is preparing to host "La Función Que Sale Mal", the internationally successful comedy that has made more than 8 million spectators laugh around the world. Winner of the prestigious Olivier Award for Best Comedy in 2015, this hilarious play mixes the best of Monty Python-style absurd humour with a plot worthy of Sherlock Holmes. The performance will take place on 24 May at 8:00 p.m.
Since its premiere in London's West End in 2012, this production has conquered the stages of more than 30 countries and five continents, becoming the highest-grossing comedy on Broadway for two consecutive seasons. In Spain, its success is unstoppable: with more than 1,000 performances and 450,000 spectators, the play continues to triumph in its sixth season... and now it's Torrevieja's turn!
A work where everything that can go wrong... goes wrong!
"The Play That Goes Wrong" introduces us to an amateur theatre group that premieres a mystery play, but what should be a conventional performance turns into a real disaster. From technical failures and sets that collapse to actors who forget their lines or get caught in the stage trapdoors. Every minute is filled with chaos and laughter. Despite all the unforeseen events, the characters fight to carry on, generating a comedy of entanglements that leaves no one indifferent.
Its clever humour, the precision of its visual gags and the impeccable work of its actors have made this production acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. Now, the public of Torrevieja has the unique opportunity to enjoy it live, in an evening of guaranteed laughter and unforgettable moments.
Tickets go on sale today, Tuesday, March 4, at 12:00, at the Teatro Municipal box office and on the website www.culturatorrevieja.com . Don't miss the opportunity to experience the funniest comedy of the year live!
LFQSM is another proposal from Cultura Torrevieja, this time with a humorous theme, for the month of May and a cultural programme that is already full of events of all kinds and for all audiences.
