The Torrevieja University Hospital will celebrate the 10th Breastfeeding Conference with the presentation of the 2nd "Rosa Mazón Valero" Award

The Councillor for Prevention and Health Promotion, Rosa Cañón, informs that next Sunday, May 9, the Torrevieja University Hospital will celebrate the 10th Breastfeeding Day, an event that, for the second consecutive year, will host the presentation of the “Rosa Mazón Valero” Award, a recognition dedicated to highlighting the work of people, institutions or associations committed to the promotion, protection and support of maternal and child health and social welfare in the Torrevieja Health Department.
The “Rosa Mazón Valero” Award was created in 2024 as a joint initiative between Rosa Mazón’s family, the Torrevieja Health Department and Torrevieja City Council, with the aim of making visible and rewarding the commitment to caring for children, the defence of women’s and children’s rights, and other actions for the benefit of the community.
In this edition, a popular candidacy campaign has been launched, allowing anyone to nominate those they consider worthy of recognition for their career and contribution in these areas.
The applications received will be evaluated by a jury composed of representatives of Rosa Mazón's family, the Torrevieja Health Department, the Torrevieja City Council and the “Lazos de Crianza” Association, winner of the award in the last edition.
The award ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 9, at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center in Torrevieja, within the framework of the 10th Breastfeeding Conference, which will feature an extensive program of activities aimed at health professionals, families and the community in general.
With this initiative, Torrevieja Hospital reaffirms its commitment to maternal and child health and public recognition of those who work to improve the quality of life of mothers, babies and families in the local environment.
