The Agamed Board reinforces its commitment to the Social Fund for job creation and to the digitalization of the entire water cycle

The meeting of the Board of Directors of AGAMED, chaired by the mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolón, which took place this morning in the boardroom of the entity in Torrevieja, has reinforced its commitment to two fundamental issues to advance towards a more efficient and sustainable management.
On the one hand, the fulfilment and objectives achieved with the Social Fund have been reported, while the planning for this year 2025 has been presented. This fund, which began to be applied in 2020 with a budget of 107,418 euros, has been increasing over time until reaching an amount of 308,093 euros in 2024. Thus, in this last year, it has generated a total of 846 contracts.
These figures highlight the commitment of AGAMED and the Torrevieja City Council to social policies. In fact, over the last five years a total of 1,433,565 euros has been invested in this initiative, which has benefited 3,559 contracts. In addition, it is a program that has been adapted to the needs at specific times, as happened in 2021, when new beneficiary profiles were established among residents, merchants and companies that were affected by the crisis derived from COVID-19.
On the other hand, and among other issues such as the Infrastructure Plan, the presentation of the project "AGAMED Digital: management of the complete water cycle in Torrevieja" to the third call of the PERTE (Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation) for the Digitalization of the urban water cycle called by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has also been reported. This project, which includes a total investment of 1,753,729 euros that will complete the contribution of 325,443 euros of own funds, includes more than twenty proposals focused on improving the efficiency and digitalization of the water cycle.
In addition, this proposal also includes the implementation of various plans focused on issues such as drought emergencies; health and water quality monitoring; action and coordination in the event of floods; water regeneration or smart measurement of domestic consumption.
