The 5th Raúl Ferrández National Amateur Theatre Competition will be held from March 19 to 23.

A total of 31 companies from 17 Spanish provinces have participated in this fifth edition.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Municipal Theater on Wednesday, March 27, at 8:00 p.m., coinciding with World Theater Day, where in addition to the awards ceremony, there will be a reading of the 2025 theater manifesto and a performance of the play "La gramática," starring María Adánez.

The 5th Raúl Ferrández National Amateur Theatre Competition, which will be held from March 19th to 23rd at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre at 8:00 pm (with free admission until capacity is reached), has announced the five theatre groups and plays selected for this edition. A total of 31 companies from all over Spain have submitted their performances.

Theater groups from 17 provinces across our country have performed, including Madrid, Murcia, Barcelona, Zamora, Valencia, Castellón, Ciudad Real, Alicante, Seville, Granada, Zaragoza, Jaén, Guipúzcoa, Teruel, Málaga, Pontevedra, and Albacete.

The jury's decision will be announced on Wednesday, March 27, at the Municipal Theater. The World Theater Day manifesto will be read, along with a performance of the play "La gramática," starring María Adánez.

The companies and works selected for this fifth edition are:

-On Wednesday, March 19, the Carabau Teatre company from Valencia will perform the show "Forced Marriage."

-On Thursday, March 20, the Mar Teatro Cultural Association of Santomera (Murcia) will perform the show “Dismantling Shakespeare.”

-On Friday, March 21, the Alpi Teatre company from L'Alfàs del Pi (Alicante) will perform the play "On the Moon."

-On Saturday, March 22, the Barcelona-based company Companyia8 will perform the show “On the Coolest Summer of the Rest of Our Lives and Idiots.”

-On Sunday, March 23, the Almansa (Albacete) Performing Arts and Music Company will perform the play “Agnes de Dios.”
