Torrevieja City Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Concha Sala, reports that a total of 1,223 people are expected to camp this Easter 2025 in the "José Eduardo Gil Rebollo" Municipal Recreation Area, in the 365 tents that have requested permission to set up in this large green area located in front of La Mata Cemetery. The camping period will run from next Saturday, April 12th, to Monday, April 28th, inclusive.

This large number of applications approved by the Department of Parks and Gardens, which increases every year, once again confirms that this large green space has become the main attraction for Torrevieja residents for more than a decade, enjoying the outdoors and in tents during the traditional Easter picnics.

COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF THE RECREATIONAL AREA

In the authorizations, which have been made through a general application in the electronic headquarters of the Torrevieja City Council (torrevieja.sedelectronica.es) attaching the responsible declaration that appears for this purpose, it is stated that they must comply with the regulations for the use of the Municipal Recreational Area, which includes that they remain
obliged to remove the waste produced during their stay, making use of
the containers intended for this purpose.

Furthermore, they must take responsibility for any damage that may be caused, refrain from making electrical connections to public lighting, and respect the Ordinance Regulating Green Zones, Natural Areas, and Street Trees, complying with all its terms.

This ordinance, regarding the protection of plant life, prohibits any manipulation of trees and plants, the throwing of garbage and waste, and the lighting of fires. The large pine forest in the “José Eduardo Gil Rebollo” Municipal Recreation Area was created thanks to reforestation carried out over the past two decades by both
Torrevieja City Council, as well as numerous associations, local entities and schools, especially with pine plantations and native trees.

A recreational area with restrooms, children's play areas, and recreational areas for residents to enjoy, as well as picnic areas.
