Given the growing demand from residents and tourists for more parking spaces in the Torrevieja urban area, it is necessary to use municipally owned land, free of buildings, for temporary park-and-ride parking. This will contribute to greater participation in more efficient modes of transport (public transport, shared mobility, high-occupancy vehicles) and active mobility through walking and cycling, as well as reducing the occupation of public space by private vehicles on roads and traffic lanes, in addition to reducing air pollution levels, improving air quality and public health.
