The Municipal Choral School's Symphony Choir made an indelible mark on the 70th edition of the prestigious Cork International Choral Festival (Ireland), where it was awarded the prize for best performance of a work by a living European composer.

The festival organizers and the competition jury were full of praise for the performances of the Symphony Choir, highlighting their exceptional vocal and technical prowess, as well as their outstanding interpretive ability and versatility on stage.

Beyond the competition, the choir demonstrated its commitment and connection to the local community through various activities. A particularly moving moment was their performance at an elementary school, where the Choral School teachers and members of the Symphony Choir displayed their remarkable adaptability by sharing musical games and endearing children's songs with the little ones, who responded enthusiastically and were fascinated by the experience.

Their participation in the Sunday Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's Church in Rochestown was also a significant milestone. Their moving sacred songs enriched the celebration, generating gratitude and congratulations from the parishioners. After the ceremony, the choir shared a warm lunch with parishioners, who expressed their immense gratitude and enthusiasm for the moving performance.

The prestigious award given in the competition phase further highlights the talent of the Symphony Choir, which won with a brilliant performance of Bernadet Kuhne's habanera "Verde Mar." This achievement underscores the valuable work carried out by the Municipal Choral School, and in particular the Symphony Choir, in bringing and promoting the cultural richness of the habanera to audiences around the world.

This international recognition consolidates the career of the Sinfonía Choir and highlights the excellent artistic and educational work carried out at the Torrevieja Municipal Choral School, thanks to the support of the Habaneras Department and Torrevieja City Council. A source of pride for the city and its cultural heritage!
