The sports area of the Torreta Florida flood-prone park has been inaugurated.

The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, along with the Councilor for Urban Services, Sandra Sánchez; the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Concha Sala; the Councilor for Sports, Diana Box; the Manager and Deputy Manager of AGAMED, Jorge Ballesta; and Gemma Cruz, inaugurated this afternoon the new skate park located in the Torrealmendros rolling pond. This facility is part of the project to expand, improve, and integrate the Torreta Florida Floodplain Park into the landscape.
Numerous members of the Puro Skateboard Torrevieja Skating Club participated in the opening ceremony, led by its president, Claudio Pastor, and its secretary, Silvia Jiménez. It is worth noting that Valeria Chacón, a young Torrevieja member of this club, is the Valencian Community champion in her category and currently participates in an Olympic sport. The club's skateboarding team congratulated and thanked Torrevieja City Council for creating this large sports space, designed with their own advice to make it as effective as possible for their training sessions.
For his part, the mayor congratulated AGAMED for the launch of this sports area on this storm pond, which has involved an investment of almost 700,000 euros, and thanked the Puro Skateboard Club for their support and collaboration throughout the park's development. This park has become a major sports area for practicing this sport.
SKATEPARK AND CALISTHENICS AREA
This new sports facility features a modern skate park equipped with various specialized modules, including Quarter+Flat, Hand Rail, Manual Pad+Flat, Flat Rail, and Funbox+Hubba+Spine, which will allow skaters to practice different modalities and techniques of this urban sport.
The project not only includes the sports facility, but also a calisthenics area, new street furniture, and a comprehensive landscape integration plan through planting, thus contributing to the renaturalization of the space and the creation of a new green area for the enjoyment of all citizens.
This project represents an important step in improving the city of Torrevieja's sports and recreational facilities, offering a modern and versatile space for skateboarding and other outdoor sports activities.
