Torrevieja will host the 11th Provincial Meeting of COCEMFE Alicante Associations

The Federation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of the Province of Alicante (COCEMFE Alicante), together with its federated entity APANEE and the Torrevieja City Council, presented today in the Plenary Hall of the town hall the XI Provincial Meeting of Associations of People with Disabilities. The event will bring together the next
Saturday, May 31, to more than 200 people representing 45 entities in the province of Alicante.
The presentation ceremony was attended by Trudy Páez, Councilor for NGOs and Attention to Functional Diversity; Cristina Esclapés, President of COCEMFE Alicante; and María José Sánchez, President of APANEE. They all agreed that the meeting was conceived with a three-fold purpose: to strengthen cooperation between associations; to raise awareness and defend the rights of people with physical and organic disabilities in all spheres of society; and to promote Torrevieja as a benchmark for tourism and leisure thanks to the municipal commitment and the work of APANEE itself. Trudy Páez expressed her gratitude for COCENFE choosing Torrevieja to host this provincial meeting, which will bring together more than 200 people with disabilities, families, and professionals committed to full inclusion and universal accessibility. The Councilor for NGOs and Attention to Functional Diversity added that the meeting will showcase the charms of our city, its history, culture, and rich cuisine.
Cristina Esclapés emphasized that "this meeting demonstrates COCEMFE Alicante's commitment to building a more just and inclusive society, promoting support networks, collaborative work, and actions that improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and the organizations that represent them." The president of COCEMFE Alicante thanked the Departments of Tourism and NGOs for all their support in making this day of coexistence possible.
Program May 31
The event will open at 9:30 a.m. with an official welcome at Paseo Vista Alegre and continue with a guided tour of the historic center, a boat ride around the bay, and a visit to the Torrevieja Salt Flats. The program will culminate with a convivial lunch at the Municipal Leisure Center (CMO), where all attendees will share experiences and best practices aimed at promoting joint projects.
The 11th Provincial Meeting of COCEMFE Alicante Associations is supported by the Torrevieja City Council, the Alicante Provincial Council, and the First Vice-Presidency and Ministry of Social Services, Equality, and Housing of the Generalitat Valenciana.

The Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of the Province of Alicante (COCEMFE Alicante) is a non-profit NGO established in 1987. Its objective is to achieve the full inclusion and active participation of people with physical and organic disabilities in all aspects of society through the promotion, defense, and vindication of their rights, as well as the coordination, representation, and promotion of the associative movement, thus contributing to the construction of an inclusive and diverse society. It is made up of 45 federated entities from the province of Alicante, and together we safeguard the rights and needs of people with disabilities.
