The Department of Equality is organizing a training session for healthcare workers on how to deal with sexual assault.

This workshop aims to improve and promote the professional capacity of those involved in the detection and care of victims of gender-based violence.

The Torrevieja City Council's Department of Equality, in collaboration with the Commission for Equality and the Fight Against Gender Violence, has organized a training session for healthcare personnel entitled "COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE IN THE FACE OF SEXUAL ASSAULTS."

The event will take place in the auditorium of Torrevieja University Hospital this coming Thursday, June 26, from 11:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The presentations that will be given are:

- Raising awareness among healthcare personnel about the need for health protocols . Ángela Escribano Martínez. EVES teacher.

-Comprehensive protocol for addressing sexual assaults from the Department of Health: the reality in the Valencian Community . Ana Mazó Miralles. Specialist in Gynecology or Obstetrics. La Fe Hospital.

-Healthcare for victims of sexual violence: medical intervention, judicial action, and misconceptions . Pedro Galiana Vila. Forensic physician. Comprehensive Forensic Assessment Unit of Alicante.

-Resources for victims . Desirée Paredes Boj. Health social worker. Torrevieja Health Department.

This workshop is subsidized by the State Pact Funds and aims to improve and foster the professional capacity of those involved in detecting and caring for victims of gender-based violence.
