Antonio Ballesta signs the donation of part of his paintings to the UNED in Torrevieja

The tour of the life and work of Antonio Ballesta (Redován, 1949) was carried out by the director of the salt classroom at the UNED in Elche, Jesucristo Riquelme, who gathered around thirty people at the Real Club Náutico Torrevieja on the eve of San Juan, whom he delighted with his emphatic tribute to the "painter who revealed himself."
The Ineffable Line is the title of the catalog accompanying the donation. A total of 39 paintings, the result of different stages of Ballesta's artistic career, will presumably be displayed on the walls and in the spaces of the new university building.
Riquelme, after explaining the influences of María Zambrano, Konstantínos Kaváfis, Robert Schumann, Miguel Hernández and García Lorca on the work of the Redovanense, as well as the symbolism of the white coat during the Covid-19 pandemic and the difference between still lifes of olives and apples, gave way to the formal signing of the donation, which was signed by the author himself, along with the director of the UNED in Elche, Francisco Escudero, and the Councilor for Education and Universities of the Torrevieja City Council, Ricardo Recuero.
A guided tour of the exhibition concluded the opening ceremony. The paintings will be on display until Friday, June 27, at the RCNT, and they are expected to be displayed again later, in a larger format with more of the donated works, in a major exhibition at the Vista Alegre gallery in 2026.
