Three projects aimed at the fashion sector, highlighting talent from the Vega Baja region, and the restaurant industry, received awards at the 3rd edition of Torrevieja Emprende.

The third edition of the Torrevieja Emprende program, an initiative promoted by the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University (PCUMH) in Elche and the Torrevieja City Council, has already announced its winners. The "Vesty" proposal was awarded €2,500 in the category "Best project with the greatest potential and/or innovative character in Torrevieja or the region," while the €2,000 award for "Best project belonging to a sector of strategic interest to the municipality of Torrevieja" was shared equally between the "Eat with us" and "Achavo" initiatives, €1,000 each. The jury of this third edition also decided to grant a special mention to the CIRCU and Atar Cabos projects for their quality and the progress of their projects.
The presentations to the jury took place last Friday, June 20th; the winners were announced yesterday, Thursday, June 26th, during the "Start-up Talks Torrevieja" event.
"Vesty" is a mobile app aimed at the fashion world, launched by Pablo Gomariz, Alberto García, and Izhar Sanz; "Eat With Us" is a comprehensive web platform that optimizes order management in restaurants, promoted by Selene Gisbert, Javier Bernaola, and Diego Bellido; and "Achavo" is a project that seeks to showcase the creative talent of the Vega Baja region in fields such as photography and audiovisuals, promoted by Paola Murcia and Asunción Penalva.
Circu is a circular swimwear brand with a positive impact promoted by Ángela Martí, and Atar Cabos is an online nautical academy offering flexible and effective training, led by Carolina González, José Hernández, and Daniel Velarde. In addition to these proposals, the projects Aura Baby, Humus Regenerative Strategies, and Deditos Barefoot were also presented to the jury of the third edition.
All of these projects, both winners and finalists, have received an extraordinary award consisting of a free year of membership in JOVEMPA Vega Baja, a recognition granted by this organization.
Jury of experts
The jury responsible for selecting the winning projects was composed of Ricardo Recuero, Councilor for Education and Innovation of the Torrevieja City Council; Carlos Pérez, Deputy Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship and Financial Management at the University of Madrid (UMH); and Rafael Legido, Vice President of Jovempa Vega Baja. Also included were Javier Sancho, Director of the Entrepreneurship Department at the University of Madrid (UMH) Science Park; Carlos Carmona, President of the Real Club Náutico Torrevieja; and Álvaro Barrio, CEO of the security engineering company Toloal.
Torrevieja Entrepreneurship in figures
A total of 22 entrepreneurs with 15 business initiatives registered for the third Torrevieja Emprende program. In total, nearly 50 projects were registered and 30 projects were mentored over the three editions. This program is part of Emprende UMH, an initiative of Miguel Hernández University, managed by its Science Park, which seeks to help municipalities and public institutions in the province in their commitment to entrepreneurship and business growth.
