Torrevieja Municipal School of Painting. "Creative Exploration" Exhibition

On Friday, July 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., the Torrevieja Municipal Painting School will inaugurate its student painting exhibition, titled "Creative Exploration," in the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center exhibition hall.

It showcases the creations made during this last 2024-2025 academic year with Professor Marián M. Cañizares.

The works on display are the product of different creative processes based on play, chance, and collective creation.

In the room we find an exquisite corpse, based on the surrealist technique used to access the subconscious, which thrives on imagination and surprise.

We approach different emotions , which have been represented collectively on wooden panels almost two meters long and individually on paper, for which we have started from the exploration of the same in well-known works of art history such as love ("The Garden of Love" by Remedios Varo), terror and the pain of humanity ("The Scream" by Munch or "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch), melancholy and sadness ("Walker above a Sea of Fog" by Caspar Friedrich ); joy ("The Joy of Life" by Henri Matisse) and tranquility ("Walk by the Sea" by Joaquin Sorolla), among many other creations analyzed.

We delve into the field of memory by painting personal recollections on repurposed wooden photo frames, creating works that place us in the past with our gaze directed toward the future.

We can see landscapes and nature, two of the great references in the field of creation, while drawing, which is the first and most direct form of plastic expression through lines on paper.

And all this without forgetting the main thing, the use of color and the different techniques necessary for representation .
