Official reception for Mireia Belmonte, the greatest Spanish athlete of all time

The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the Councilor for Sports, Diana Box, welcomed Mireia Belmonte, the greatest Spanish athlete of all time, for an official visit, along with a large group of young swimmers from Torrevieja. For the first time in its history, the city of Torrevieja welcomed the Olympic, World, and European swimming champion, whose legacy in sport transcends borders and generations. Belmonte's presence in the City Hall Plenary Hall was an act of recognition and admiration for an exemplary career, a source of inspiration for millions of people.
The mayor of Torrevieja and the sports councilor presented Mireia Belmonte with a salt boat as a souvenir of her stay in the city, and she also signed the Torrevieja City Council's Book of Honor.
Eduardo Dolón has highlighted the humility and simplicity of a legend of Spanish sport, who has demonstrated her greatness through her values as an elite athlete, hoping that in the coming months some kind of collaboration can be established with her to promote and foster swimming in Torrevieja.
For her part, Mireia Belmonte thanked the mayor for his warm welcome and stated that the facilities at the Sports City, and especially the Olympic-sized pool in Torrevieja, are spectacular, "one of the best and most complete I've seen, not only in Spain, but in the entire world."
