INAUGURADA LA EXPOSICIÓN FOTOGRÁFICA ITINERANTE "MANCOMUNIDAD DE LOS CANALES DEL TAIBILLA: 100 AÑOS ABASTECIENDO DE AGUA Y DE PROGRESO”
The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the President of the Taibilla Canals Association, Juan Cascales, and the Councilor for Culture, Antonio Quesada, inaugurated this morning at the viewpoint where the old Tintero was located (Playa del Cura), the traveling photography exhibition "Mancomunidad de los Canales del Taibilla: 100 years supplying water and progress", organized by the MCT to raise awareness of its history in view of the approaching centenary.

This traveling photography exhibition, which will remain in Torrevieja until July 29, sheds light on its history in anticipation of its centenary. It comprises twelve panels, each 120 x 120 centimeters high, that summarize the most important moments in the organization's history from its founding on October 4, 1927, to the present day, delving into such significant events as the construction of the most representative infrastructures of its hydraulic system and the arrival of water to the municipalities.

In this exhibition, the last two panels are dedicated to the relationship between Torrevieja and the Taibilla Canal Association (Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla). Among the images are the document dated July 31, 1946, in which the mayor of Torrevieja requests that the municipality be granted membership in the MCT (Mediterranean Water Commission), as well as several photographs of the construction and current state of the infrastructure that provides water supply to the population.
