The Minister of Justice and Public Administration, Nuria Martínez, visited the Palace of Justice in Torrevieja, where the air conditioning, ventilation, and lighting systems have just been renovated.
The project, with an investment of over €1.2 million, allows for an estimated saving of 65% on the electricity bill for lighting, while also significantly reducing CO₂ emissions, in line with the Generalitat's commitment to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly model.
"This improvement not only means greater energy efficiency, but also better working conditions for professionals and better care for citizens. We continue to advance toward a more modern and sustainable Administration of Justice, aligned with the environmental challenges of our time," he noted.
Previously, the Minister of Justice visited Torrevieja City Hall, where she was received by the Mayor, Eduardo Dolón, and signed the guest book. During the meeting, the Minister conveyed to the members of the municipal council her commitment to continue defending the Valencian identity and to continue working to improve the lives of Torrevieja residents and advance toward a more agile, modern, efficient, accessible, and inclusive Justice and Public Administration system.
Likewise, in a meeting between the councilor and the mayor, the council's planned land transfer to expand the City of Justice was discussed, and the council has pledged to expedite the process to make the expansion a reality as soon as possible.
Description of works for the new UVFI premises
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice is developing a 300-square-meter facility to house a future Comprehensive Forensic Assessment Unit (CFU) at the Torrevieja Palace of Justice. This project, with an investment of €385,704, is a key infrastructure for strengthening care for victims of violence and other crimes through a specialized and interdisciplinary approach.
The renovation of a new 300-square-meter facility to house a future Comprehensive Forensic Assessment Unit (UVFI) will improve care for victims of violence and other crimes through a specialized and interdisciplinary approach.
The objective of these works, which began on June 13th and will be completed in September of this year, is to respond to the new needs in the Torrevieja judicial district by creating a Comprehensive Forensic Assessment Unit consisting of a friendly room, a forensic clinic, a double office, a waiting room, two accessible restrooms, and two areas for judicial archives. The premises will also be equipped with access to the facilities, a hall, a rack room, an accessible restroom, and a cleaning room.
The premises are located on the ground floor of a residential building with a usable area of 290 m², accessed via Patricio Zammit Street and San Pascual Street.
