Torrevieja debuts on The Champions Burger route to choose the "Best Burger in Spain"

Torrevieja joins the Champions Burger route this year for the first time, the largest gastronomic festival in the country. The festival continues to break records and expects to visit more than 50 cities this year due to its success with the public this summer. The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, emphasized that "events like this reinforce Torrevieja's image as an open, dynamic city with a first-class leisure and gastronomic offering. Attracting an event of this magnitude represents a significant economic and tourism boost and confirms that our city is capable of hosting major events that generate activity and prestige." For his part, the Councilor for Heritage and Youth of Torrevieja City Council, Domingo Paredes, emphasized that "this event not only places us on the national gastronomic map, but also offers our young people and residents the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience, with creative, high-quality offerings that fuse tradition and innovation. We are committed to activities that bring the city to life."

“THE CHAMPIONS BURGER” WILL BE IN TORREVIEJA FOR 19 DAYS

From August 20th to September 7th, Torrevieja will be filled with the aroma of grilled meats with the arrival of nearly 20 food trucks that will fire up their grills to compete for the title of "Best Burger in Spain." Antonio Soria Park will be the meeting point for gourmet burger lovers, in an edition with major new features. Among these, the neon-lit portico, inspired by the legendary American highways, will be lit on opening day to give way to a space where gastronomy and good atmosphere merge. The level of the competition has been increasing after passing through 20 cities, and Torrevieja is joining at a significant moment. The proposals are unique, developed exclusively for this event, which has raised both the quality and the demands of chefs and the public. Visitors will be able to taste burgers that combine tradition and innovation, with certified meats, artisan breads, and surprising combinations. There will also be more innovative recipes that expand the offerings and reinforce the festival's creative identity. José Morales, director of The Champions Burger, highlighted the importance of this new stop: "Throughout the year, we've been touring different parts of the province of Alicante, and we were especially excited to bring the event to Torrevieja. It's a town with a very special energy, a unique tourist atmosphere, and a very diverse audience. We're sure we'll experience great times." The venue will host a space reserved for the restaurants of leading culinary content creators: Moflete, owned by renowned YouTuber Joe Burger, and The Ox, owned by influencer Pablo Cabezali. Gottan Grill, the current Spanish and European champion, will also be present. Although its offerings cannot be voted on, its participation is already one of the major draws of this edition.

THE PUBLIC OF TORREVIEJA WILL DECIDE WHICH IS THE BEST
SPANISH BURGER

At The Champions Burger, the audience takes center stage. The voting system is very simple: after trying each burger, visitors scan the QR code on the purchase receipt and rate the bun, meat, ingredients, presentation, and originality. Participants at this stop include: Street Food Burger, Muralla, Dak Burger, The Vicbros Burger, Godeo, Nola Smoke, Rico, El Tarantín Chiflado, Tokio, Vacarnal, K-chopo, Circo, Jisma, Gula, and Madison.

To complete the gastronomic experience, food trucks like Cheeck's (fried chicken) and Ybarra (French fries) will also be present, as well as two sweet options: Ioan (artisanal donuts) and Seixis (cheesecakes).

A 2025 FULL OF NEWS AND RECORD PARTICIPATION

The route has already visited cities such as Córdoba, Madrid, Barcelona, Murcia, Gijón, Zaragoza, Alicante, and San Sebastián, among others. The Champions Burger is currently located in Benidorm, where it will remain until August 17. The festival will continue its run in A Coruña, from August 13 to 24, with a new stop full of flavor and creative burgers. The next locations will be announced in the coming days. With more than 50 cities this year, it will break the record set in 2024, when it attracted more than four million attendees across 18 destinations and more than 100 participating burger restaurants.

NATIONAL GRAND FINAL IN DECEMBER

The championship will conclude in December with the grand finale, where the 35 burger restaurants with the most votes throughout the year will compete. In addition, the "Best Burger in Europe" will be chosen, an international competition that includes new, high-quality burgers from different European countries. With eight editions, The Champions Burger is the first burger championship in the country and has established itself as the largest gastronomic festival of its kind, bringing together the best representatives of the sector in one place. Its growth has contributed to the rise of new specialized burger restaurants, raising the standard of quality, creativity, and sophistication of this product. The organization also maintains its commitment to the environment. Specific containers for the recycling of reusable cups are set up in each city, thus contributing to waste reduction and the responsible use of sustainable materials.

The Champions Burger arrives in Torrevieja for the first time.
