The UA headquarters teaches how to use a cell phone with the course "Your Cell Phone from Scratch."

The University of Alicante (UA) Torrevieja Campus, in collaboration with the Torrevieja City Council's Departments of Senior Citizens and Innovation and Citizen Services, is offering the practical course "Your Mobile Phone from Scratch" through the UA's Permanent University.

This is a basic computer course that aims to teach students how to use a cell phone correctly through basic, everyday operations. The course is primarily intended for people aged 50 and over, regardless of their prior knowledge of telephony, computers, the internet, and email.

The course will be held in person at the University of Alicante's Torrevieja Campus, located on the second floor of the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center (Calle de Mar, 28), between October, November, and December 2025, in the morning (from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.).

It will take place on Tuesdays, October 21 and 28; November 4, 11, 18, and 25; and December 2, 9, and 11 (Thursdays), and 16. The lecturer will be María Estela Saquete Boro , a professor at the UA's Higher Polytechnic School IV.

The fee will be 68 euros, which includes opening a UA student file, university identification card (TIU), and insurance. Students will receive proof of completion after participating in at least 80% of the sessions.

Registration can be completed using this pre-registration form and also from Monday to Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the UA Headquarters in Torrevieja or by sending a scanned DNI, NIE (Foreigner Identification Number) or passport to the email address sede.torrevieja@ua.es, along with a telephone number, postal address, and email address (if you don't have one, it can be that of a relative).

Registration will be open starting next Monday, September 1st, until capacity is reached or until October 6th.
