Tomorrow, Saturday, September 13, following the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of Hope and Peace, led by the Bishop of the Diocese of Orihuela-Alicante, and at the start of the extraordinary procession that will depart from the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a new commemorative bench will be unveiled in honor of this social and religious event that the city will experience.

The so-called "Bench of Hope" was promoted by the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Hope and promoted by the Torrevieja City Council, through its Department of Parks and Gardens. This bench will commemorate this important anniversary over time, clearly symbolizing the 40 years of devotion to Our Lady of Hope that have been celebrated in Torrevieja until now, culminating in this coronation.

The presentation will take place once the image of the Crowned Virgin of Hope has left the temple, approaching the place where the bench has been placed. It will be unveiled by the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the president of the Brotherhood of Hope, Ana Isabel Ferrándiz.

The "Banco de la Esperanza" (Bench of Hope) was designed "as a partnership" by Emilia Aliaga and Pepe Miralles, as both designers stated. The Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Concha Sala, who coordinated the installation work, noted that "it will be a milestone commemorating the crowning of La Esperanza and a new focal point in the Plaza de Oriente."

A "time capsule" has been placed inside the center of the bench, containing items that will later bear witness to the moment in which this bench was made. Among the objects placed there are legal tender coins, the sketch of the bench's design, the latest edition of the Torrevieja Holy Week magazine, the coronation decree signed by the Bishop, posters and prints of the coronation, and the corresponding issue of Vista Alegre Weekly, among others.
