The tender for the transport contract for the Municipal Sports Schools has been approved by the Local Government Board.
The Local Government Board of Torrevieja City Council approved this morning the tender for the Municipal Sports Schools' transport contract for trips outside the city, through a negotiated, non-public procedure, after the previous tender had been declared void.
The base tender budget amounts to an annual budget of €117,325.67 (VAT included) for 176 regional, provincial, autonomous, and national trips. The contract term is four years, renewable for one more year (maximum five years), for a financial sum of €553,298.50 (VAT included). The deadline for submitting bids is July 22, 2025.
IMPROVING THE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE FOR SPORTS SCHOOLS
This contract maintains and improves the transportation service for the municipal sports schools, ensuring the continuity of the sports model and fulfilling this city's commitment to local sport.
The sports school management model provides students with transportation to competitions outside the city, free use of facilities, a sports instructor, and sports accident insurance with care at Quirón Hospital. This model's main objective is to facilitate sports practice, promote healthy habits among young people, and, above all, instill the values associated with sports throughout their development.
This transport reduces the number of private vehicles on the road on competition days, which would occur if athletes' families had to use their own vehicles. It also guarantees the presence of these athletes at the competitions in their respective categories, thus ensuring their attendance at competitions does not depend on their family members' work schedules or any other needs.
