Torrevieja celebrates World Tourism Day with guided tours, open days, and gastronomic activities.
Torrevieja City Councilor for Tourism, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, has announced the extensive program of activities for World Tourism Day , which will take place from September 26 to 28. This year, the city will host cultural, educational, ecotourism, and gastronomic events open to the general public.
Friday, September 26
The program will begin with guided tours of the city center , with sessions at 10:00 and 11:00 in different languages (Spanish, English, and French). Registration must be made at the Tourist Office.
Saturday, September 27
Saturday's event will feature a varied schedule of activities:
- Family drama tour "The Salty History of the Lagoons" in La Mata Natural Park, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., aimed at children aged 7 to 12. This activity is organized by the Ars Creatio Cultural Association (limited to 50 people).
- Guided tour of the Natural History Museum , with passes at 11:00 and 12:00 (registration via QR code).
- Informative talks "Once upon a time there was a beach. From monk seals to the Kentish plover" , from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Concepción Street, at the corner of Fotógrafos Darblade.
- Open day at the city's museums , with free admission from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Floating Museums (Submarine S-61 and Customs and Civil Guard patrol boats) and the Sea and Salt Museum.
- Guided tour of the Salt Industry , with a special price of €6 (50% discount), from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., no prior registration required.
- In addition, International Tapas Day will take place on Saturday in Torrevieja , organized by the Association of Hospitality Companies of Torrevieja and the Region, with more information available at www.torreviejagastronomica.com .
Sunday, September 28
The weekend will conclude with the "Vineyards and Salt" ecotourism route in La Mata Natural Park, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Registration can be done at the Tourist Office or at www.turismodetorrevieja.com/ecorutas .
Complementary activities
In parallel to the main program, the "Torrevieja DMT25" Photography Contest will be held from September 15 to 26. Participants must post a photo of their favorite spot in the city on Instagram, tag @torreviejaturis, and use the hashtag #TorreviejaDMT25 . The rules and prizes can be found at this link .
