Torrevieja City Council announces grants for young university students for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Torrevieja City Council, through the Departments of Youth and Education, has published the call for grants for young university students for the 2024/2025 academic year. This initiative seeks to support the city's students with the current costs of tuition, teaching materials, and public transportation (bus and train). Grants may reach a maximum of €1,500 per student, subject to proof of expenses.
The Councilor for Economy, Finance, and Youth, Domingo Paredes, stated that "these scholarships are a clear demonstration of this government's commitment to our young people and the families of Torrevieja. We want to ensure that no one is left behind in their university education for financial reasons. Investing in education means investing in the future of the city."
Main requirements
All residents of Torrevieja up to the age of 35, registered in the municipality for at least the last two years without interruption, and enrolled in official courses within the Spanish university system (Bachelor's or Master's degrees), may apply.

In the first year, students must be enrolled in all core and compulsory subjects. In subsequent years, students must enroll in at least 36 credits (except in the final year if fewer credits remain). For Master's programs, students must enroll in the full course for one-year programs, or at least 60 credits in the first year for two-year programs. A minimum entrance grade or average of 5 points is required. Furthermore, per capita family income may not exceed €17,000 per year.
Deadlines and submission of applications
The submission period is 10 business days: from October 2 to 16, 2025, inclusive. Applications must be registered in person at the General Registry of Torrevieja City Council or through the municipal Electronic Office.
