The City Council is providing the space to the Local Development Agency (ADL) to ensure that the service continues to be provided normally during the renovation work.

The SUMA Tax Management office, located at 20 Patricio Pérez Street, will temporarily relocate its operations to the Local Development Agency (ADL) building at 20 Avenida de las Habaneras, starting next Monday, October 20th, to mark the start of a comprehensive renovation of its current facilities.

This weekend, relocation work will be carried out so that the municipal tax management and collection service can resume normal operations in its new location on the first business day. The estimated duration of the work will be approximately three months, so the return to the original location is expected in January 2026.

The Councilor for Economy and Finance, Domingo Paredes, explained that "this project is part of SUMA's 2023-2030 Office Renovation Plan, promoted by the Alicante Provincial Council, which aims to modernize the facilities to offer a more accessible, efficient, and sustainable service to citizens.

Paredes emphasized that "Torrevieja, along with Benidorm, will be the first cities to have new, more accessible and modern offices. The new office will feature larger spaces, an open and bright layout, and personalized service areas that will facilitate closer and more direct taxpayer support."

The works will include improving universal accessibility and incorporating new digital technologies to enhance the service's sustainability and transparency. Key new features include digital signage, reduced paper use through shared printers, sound-absorbing panels to improve acoustics, a more efficient air conditioning system, and adaptation of the environment for people with visual impairments through tactile paving.

The Finance Councilor expressed the City Council's full cooperation with SUMA, providing the ADL space to ensure the continuity of the service and minimize any potential inconvenience to taxpayers.

"These types of actions," he added, "reinforce the joint commitment between SUMA, the Alicante Provincial Council, and Torrevieja City Council to continue improving public services and bringing them ever closer to meeting the real needs of residents."
