The Palace of Music hosts the 12th Ricardo Lafuente International Singing Competition.

The Councilor for Culture, Antonio Quesada, announces that Torrevieja will host the twelfth edition of the Ricardo Lafuente International Singing Competition on October 24 and 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., at the Palacio de la Música. This event brings together top-level contestants from different countries and continents, including Spain, Romania, Venezuela, and Italy.

The semifinal will be held on Friday, October 24th, with nine participants performing a habanera and an opera aria, showcasing their vocal and interpretive talent and versatility before the jury and audience.

On Saturday, October 25th, in addition to the grand finale, the competition will pay tribute to maestro Ricardo Lafuente Aguado, an emblematic figure of Torrevieja habanera music. This moving tribute will feature local singers Francisco Moreno (tenor), Víctor Alcañíz (baritone), and Leila Rodríguez (soprano), accompanied on piano by Selena Cancino, who will perform some of the maestro's most iconic works.

This event, already established as a must-see on Torrevieja's cultural calendar, promises two exciting evenings of opera, zarzuela, and habaneras.
