Torrevieja will host the 17th World Championship of Club Fishing from Anchored Boats

TORREVIEJA ACOGERÁ EL XVII CAMPEONATO DEL MUNDO DE CLUBES DE PESCA EN EMBARCACIÓN FONDEADA
From November 1st to 8th, an international sporting event will be held at the Marina Internacional Yacht Club with the participation of 18 teams from five countries: Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Switzerland.

Torrevieja will host the XVII World Championship of Club Fishing in Anchored Boats, which will be held from November 1 to 8, 2025 at the facilities of the Marina Internacional Nautical Club, with the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the Torrevieja City Council.

Official presentation of the event

The championship was presented at a press conference today, Thursday, October 30, with the presence of Antonio Vidal, Councilor for Fishing of the Torrevieja City Council, José Segura, president of the Fishing Federation of the Valencian Community, Víctor Navarro Espejo, member of the Fishing Committee of the Marina Internacional Nautical Club, and Ángel Fernández Domínguez, president of the Anchored Boat Committee of the Spanish Federation of Fishing and Casting.

This 17th World Championship will bring together 18 teams and a total of 90 anglers from five countries: Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Portugal. It is one of the most important events on the international calendar of the International Federation of Sea Fishing (FIPS-M), organized in conjunction with the Royal Spanish Fishing and Casting Federation, the Valencian Community Fishing Federation, and the Marina Internacional Yacht Club.

Participating teams

Representing Spain will be the following clubs: CN Marina Internacional, Tecnopesca Alicante, CNAP Tubertini Ibérica, Club Campos Alqueira Palma and CN Bahía de Guardamar.
France will be represented by the Halieutis La Ciotat Club.
Italy, with six teams: Lenza Emiliana Tubertini, Seasporting Artico, ADP Catanesi Colmic, LNI Genova Centro, Polisportiva Canottieri ASD Artico and APSD Golfo dei Poeti La Spezia.
Switzerland will participate with the Club Genevois de Pêche en Mer, and Portugal with the clubs GD “Os Amarelos”, GN Olhão, CN Nazaré, CPND Albufeira and CN Povoense.

The teams' classification has been determined based on the results obtained in the respective national championships, and the competition rounds will take place on the coast of Torrevieja and nearby areas.

Official championship program

  • Saturday, November 1: Arrival and welcome of the participants.
  • Sunday, November 2: 10:00 a.m. – Captains' Meeting. 4:00 p.m. – Parade from Plaza de la Constitución and Opening Ceremony at the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre, with the attendance of the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón.
  • Monday, November 3: 09:00 h – Official practice session. 16:30 h – Official qualifying.
  • Tuesday, November 4: 09:00 h – First round of competition.
  • Wednesday, November 5: 09:00 h – Second heat.
  • Thursday, November 6: 09:00 h – Third heat.
  • Friday, November 7: 7:00 p.m. – Closing Ceremony and Awards Presentation at Las Columnas Restaurant.

With this international event, Torrevieja consolidates its position as a benchmark in the organization of top-level nautical competitions, boosting sports tourism and the city's international profile.
