Next Tuesday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., the commemorative event for Remember Day (Poppy Day) will be held at the Archpriest Parish of the Immaculate Conception. It is organized by the Royal British Legion in collaboration with the Torrevieja City Council and will be attended by the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the Councillor for International Residents, Gitte Lund, and the Councillor for Coexistence and Integration, Óscar Urtasun.

This solemn and patriotic ceremony of the British community residing in our town, which is celebrated annually on the 11th of the 11th month at 11:00 a.m., since 1920 in all towns and cities of Great Britain, is organized once again by the veterans of the Royal British Legion, presided over by Jack Kempt, in which veterans of the Navy, Army and Air Force of Great Britain also participate, as in previous editions, as well as the Local Police of Torrevieja.

The commemorative mass for this important anniversary will be officiated by the pastor of the Anglican Church in Torrevieja, Father Richard Seabrook, and will be attended by the vice-consul of the Consulate of the United Kingdom of Alicante, Sara Munsterhjelm, to later make an emotional floral offering in the Plaza de la Constitución in memory of those who fell in wars and due to terrorism.
