It has received an investment of 1,350,000 euros, in a collaboration between the Valencian Regional Government, the Torrevieja City Council and the ADIEM Foundation. The mayor has announced that in 2026, alongside these new facilities, construction will begin on a residence for people with extreme support needs.

This morning, the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, accompanied by the Councillor for NGOs and Volunteering, Trudy Páez, the Councillor for Social Welfare, Óscar Urtasun, the Managing Director of the ADIEM Foundation, Paco Canales, and the center's Director, Ana María Martín, visited the "TORRENOVA" Day Centre for people with severe mental health problems, located next to the current CRIS (Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration), on Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas. It is an annex to, but separate from, the ADIEM center.

This new center, which opened its doors on October 20th, has a capacity for 30 users, in addition to creating between 12 and 14 new jobs to provide the service. It operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with a lunch service) and is located on land granted by the Torrevieja City Council for a period of 75 years. The total investment amounted to €1,350,000, financed by the Valencian Regional Government (€750,000), the Torrevieja City Council (€437,000), and the ADIEM Foundation itself (€163,000).

The mayor of Torrevieja emphasized that “this is yet another example of the positive impact of public-private partnerships, allowing us to visit these much-needed facilities today, not only for Torrevieja but for the entire Vega Baja region. It has been a collective effort, and its reward is the improved care and well-being of the 30 people with severe mental illness who are already receiving treatment.”

Eduardo Dolón congratulated and thanked the ADIEM foundation for its great work, as well as all the professionals who make it up, being an indispensable complement to the current CRIS, which currently serves 73 people with mental illness.

For his part, Francisco Canales highlighted the Torrevieja City Council's long-standing political commitment to providing services and care for people with mental illnesses, asserting that this center is a prime example, as it was built and opened to users in less than 10 months and is already fully occupied. The managing director of the ADIEM Foundation emphasized the critical need for a center of this kind, making it the first of its kind in the entire Vega Baja region.

In 2026, construction will begin alongside these new facilities on a residence for people with extreme support needs.

Furthermore, the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has announced that construction will begin in 2026 on a residential care facility for people with extensive support needs. The facility will have a capacity for seven residents who require 24-hour supervision. It will be built on a municipal plot of land directly behind the Day Center and could be operational by early 2027.
