Daniela Daiana Gómez, proclaimed Salt Queen 2025-2026 in a gala full of emotion and tradition
The Torrevieja Municipal Theatre was the setting yesterday, Saturday, November 15, for the Coronation Gala of the Salt Queen 2025-2026, an event full of emotion, solemnity and tradition in which Daniela Daiana Gómez was proclaimed as the new Salt Queen, accompanied by Miriam Córdoba and Sara Toribio, who received the sashes that accredit them as Ladies of Salt.
The evening began outside the theater, where a piano and violin duo entertained the arrival of the outgoing Salt Court and welcomed the young women who, from this night onwards, will represent the city.
Before the main event, the public enjoyed a performance by the Paya's Dance School, which offered a show based on plays of light and shadows in which the 2024/2025 Salt Court also participated, in their last official appearance before the farewell.
The gala was attended by the queens and representatives of various social and cultural entities of Torrevieja: the Children's and Adult Beauty of the Bonfire of the Molinos del Calvario, the Children's Queen, the King and Queen of the Carnival, the Mermaid of the Royal Nautical Club, the Queen of the Festivities of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Queen of Torrelamata.
A highlight was the attendance of the Bellea del Foc of Alicante, the highest representative of the provincial capital's festivities, who received the traditional Salt Boat from the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón. In turn, the Federation of Bonfires of Alicante presented the mayor with its most prestigious award.
After the guests received their gifts, it was time to say goodbye to the 2024/2025 Salt Queen Court. Nuria Martí, the Salt Queen, spoke to thank everyone for the past year and dedicated some heartfelt words to her fellow queens, Ana Vidal and Inés Martínez, highlighting the camaraderie and shared moments during their time in office.
Next, the minutes of the jury were read, composed of José Miguel Toro, Ana María Torres, Mercedes Ortuño, Javier García, Jesús Sánchez Seva, Ainara Antelo and the Salt Court 2023/2024.
The first appointment was that of Sara Toribio as Lady of the Salt, who received her sash from Inés Martínez. Next, Miriam Córdoba was proclaimed, and she was honored as Lady of the Salt by Ana Vidal.
The culminating moment came with the proclamation of Daniela Daiana Gómez as Salt Queen, receiving the crown, earrings, and scepter from Nuria Martí. Mayor Eduardo Dolón then bestowed upon her the sash that officially recognizes her as the new highest representative of Torrevieja.
The event concluded with the Anthem of Torrevieja, performed in a solemn atmosphere marking the beginning of the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of the Immaculate Conception, which will take place until December 9th.
