Today the "City of Torrevieja" academic excellence awards are being presented

The City Council is allocating a total of 80,000 euros to recognize the effort, dedication, personal achievement and the best academic records of Torrevieja students from Primary School to university and higher education

Today, Thursday, November 20, at 8:30 p.m., the Municipal Theatre will host the ceremony for the fourth edition of the Academic Excellence Awards, granted by the Torrevieja City Council with the purpose of contributing to school success, promoting the quality of teaching and valuing and rewarding the school effort and personal improvement of the students of Torrevieja.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, accompanied by the Councilor for Education, Ricardo Recuero, and the Councilor for Youth, Domingo Paredes, will present the awards to 124 students from Torrevieja at this gala, for a total amount of almost 80,000 euros.

The awards will be given to the best academic records in Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), Baccalaureate and Vocational Training Cycle of Intermediate Level, University Degree Studies, Higher Studies of Artistic Education (Higher Title) and Higher Level Vocational Training, of the academic year 2023-2024.

To be eligible for this Academic Excellence Award, both the student and their parents (both parents) or legal representatives must be registered and reside in the municipality of Torrevieja for at least two uninterrupted years before making the application and throughout the entire 2023/2024 school year.

Students awarded these prizes must have obtained at least the following average grades in their academic record for the 2023/2024 academic year: 9 points in Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, and Baccalaureate; 8.5 in Intermediate and Advanced Vocational Training; and 8 in University Studies and Higher Artistic Education. These grades must appear on the official academic transcript issued by the corresponding educational institution.
