The musicals “Tarzan” and “The Sound of Music”, along with major stage productions such as “Road to Mecca” and “Parallel Madness”; in addition to the comedy by Eva Soriano, Wilbur, Aguilera & Mení, Edu Soto, Joaquín Caserza, “Illustrious Ignorants” and “Cut the Red Wire”; the opera La Bohème, the concerts by Sidecars, the Film Symphony Orchestra, the tribute “Pulsar to Floyd”, and other varied shows with local talent, make up the program for the January-April 2026 season of Cultura Torrevieja.

The Councillor for Culture, Antonio Quesada and the Culture Coordinator of the Torrevieja City Council, Manuel Esteban Moreno, in collaboration with the Torrevieja Culture team, presented this morning the Cultural Program January-April 2026, a wide and varied offering that includes concerts, theatre, comedy, opera and much more.

Pending December's figures, the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre and International Auditorium have hosted 190 performances this year between the two venues, featuring internationally acclaimed productions that have drawn over 92,000 attendees. With 15 events scheduled for this month, the final figure for 2025, projected at 205 performances, is expected to reach approximately 98,000 people.

Last November alone, a record 21,000 attendees were reached across both venues, with eight shows selling out. Now, to kick off the new year in style, the new season features more than 50 shows that promise to offer an unforgettable experience to the people of Torrevieja.

January

The cultural program for the next four months begins with the always wonderful Three Kings Day concerts by the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra, followed by the completely sold-out double session of the current children's sensation: "The K-pop Warriors".

During the month, Wilbur – a Spanish comedian known for his character on the television program Grand Prix – will also present his show “Wild Fire”, followed by the following concerts: “Toon Story” by the Film Symphony Orchestra, “Unforgettable” by Lucía España with Pedro Contreras, “Music and Instruments of the World” by the Casanovas Orchestra and “Pulsar to Floyd”, a tribute to the British rock band Pink Floyd.

In January, the Sports Gala will also be presented, the Carnival events will begin – the Opening Speech and the Coronation Gala of the Kings – and to end the month, we will have the grand premiere in Torrevieja of “Illustrious Ignorants”, with Javier Coronas, Raúl Cimas and Pepe Colubi, a comedy that is already selling its last tickets.

As has become customary, we're kicking off 2026 with the Theatre for All series, offering a new show each month. This theatre is aimed at families and seeks to spark an interest in cinema in young children.

February

On February 1st, Joaquín Caserza will present his monologue "Conversations with My Mind," a comedy show focused on mental health. In the following days, the play "Road to Mecca," starring Lola Herrera, will be performed. Herrera interprets this story based on the eccentric South African sculptor Helen Martins.

Let's celebrate Valentine's Day with the OST's "Romantic" concert and then, reinforcing the commitment to international culture in Torrevieja, "The Witch of Konotop" will be performed, a work in Ukrainian that revolutionized the scene in its country and obtained a wide international resonance.

This month will also feature more Carnival events, such as the Drag Queen Gala, the Teatrico and the Chirigotas Competition, and also Puccini's famous opera "La Bohème", which deals with youth, freedom and loss.

We will continue with the Ricardo Lafuente Memorial, this time with a local production by 3MAP, which will stage the work "Gitanos" by our beloved composer from Torrevieja.

Ending February in style, three performances of "Tarzan, the Musical" will be presented, a visually stunning experience with a set design that recreates the African jungle, detailed costumes and characterizations, and a cast of acrobats, dancers, singers and actors who fill the stage with energy and excitement.

March

In March, the improvisational comedy show "Corta el Cable Rojo" will arrive, with more than thirteen years of success on Madrid's Gran Vía, followed by the acclaimed congress "Reinventar la Educación", which celebrates its fifth edition, and the show "De Mujer a Mujer", programmed on the occasion of International Flamenco Day.

We'll continue with Eva Soriano's monologues, "Disfrutona"—about absurd topics, according to her—followed by Edu Soto's "Más vale solo que ciento volando" (Better Alone Than a Hundred Flying). There will be another edition of the "Gala de la Cultura" (Culture Gala) and another eagerly awaited series of concerts: "Sonrisas y Lágrimas" (The Sound of Music) by the Casanova Orchestra, "Carmina Burana"—a co-production of the IMC, Cultura Torrevieja, and the OST (Orquesta Sinfónica de Torrevieja); and a concert of processional marches during Lent, in collaboration with the Brotherhood of the Last Supper.

The VI “Raúl Ferrández” Theatre Competition will be held, and coinciding with World Theatre Day, the premiere of the play “Farra”, a kind of Baroque Cabaret, about the Golden Age, will take place.

The month will end with the premiere of the piece “Music for Hitler”, about the musical genius Pau Casals and the unsettling invitation he received to play before the Führer; and also.

April

The month will begin with three performances of "The Sound of Music," a new production by Theatre Properties that dazzles not only with its emotional story and the unforgettable music of Rodgers & Hammerstein, but also with a majestic set design that transports the audience to 1930s Austria.

Later we will have the presentation of the opera “Turandot”, to celebrate the III Festival of Great Composers and then a second DJ Symphonic session with the Royal Concert Orchestra, which was a critical and commercial success last November.

As every year, we will also enjoy the Youth Habanera Competition, which celebrates its 31st edition, followed by Aguilera and Mení with their comedy show "Mission Impro-sible" and, to conclude the month, the play "Parallel Madness" will be presented, a fun comedy about the psychology of couples.

Exhibitions

Throughout this four-month period we will enjoy a total of 7 exhibitions of different artistic disciplines and themes, both in the Vistalegre exhibition hall and in the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center hall.

Season previews

To give a preview of other events that will take place later in 2026, the announcement also included: the Sidecars concert, as part of their new tour – which will be in May – the completely sold-out double session of Juan Dávila – in June – and more concerts from the Casanovas Orchestra program – in May, July and October.

With a diverse program of shows that promise to captivate all audiences, Cultura Torrevieja remains unbeatable, maintaining the city's status as a year-round cultural destination. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy exciting artistic experiences and immerse yourself in a world of entertainment.

Tickets for almost all of these events are now available for sale , both at the Municipal Theatre box office and on the website www.culturatorrevieja.com ; any of them would make a perfect gift idea for this Christmas season.
