ASTRATEGIC PROJECT WITHIN THE CITY MODEL

The action is part of the overall strategy of the Torrevieja City Council to improve mobility, strengthen the attractiveness of urban centers and modernize public space, with special attention to La Mata.

The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has stated that La Mata is a priority for this municipal government team, which is why they are developing projects that enhance its urban quality and address the needs of its residents and businesses. This project marks the beginning of a new era for La Mata and responds to a long-standing need for parking and urban renewal, Dolón added. Our goal is clear: to transform the plaza into an environment that fosters community, strolling, shopping, and enjoyment; a vibrant, integrated plaza and a landmark along the entire northern coast of the city.

Eduardo Dolón has emphasized that this project is supported by previous geotechnical , geophysical , parking demand studies and a comparative analysis of locations, which confirmed that Plaza Encarnación Puchol is the ideal location for the future parking lot, without loss of green areas and with less urban impact.

In closing, the mayor affirmed that this project addresses a clear need: more parking spaces and a renewed urban environment designed for pedestrians. La Mata is experiencing continuous growth, with more residents, more visitors, and increased economic activity, and this demands solutions that meet those needs.
