The City Council is putting out to tender the contract for the provision of sports activities and schools, lifeguard services and receptionists
At an extraordinary and urgent Local Governing Board (JGL) meeting held this morning, Thursday, December 11, the explanatory memorandum, technical data sheet and administrative clauses for the contracting of the services of sports activities and schools, lifeguard and receptionist services were approved, for a total amount for the next 4 years (2nd year + 2 extension) of 4,553,101.44 euros (VAT not included), and a total of 46,700 annual hours of service in the contract.
The Councillor for Sports, Diana Box Alonso, has announced that the purpose of this contract is the provision of sports activity and school services, encompassing the implementation, development, technical management, coordination, execution, evaluation, and promotion of each of the activities that make up the Municipal Sports Offer. These services will be provided at municipal sports centers and at any facilities or spaces authorized or agreed upon for the development of the municipal sports offer.
Specifically, the service will be developed in the following sports facilities in the city: “Tavi y Carmona” Sports Palace, indoor (50 meters) and outdoor (25 meters) swimming pool of the Sports Palace, “Esteban Rosado”, “Nito” and “Gabriel Samper” artificial turf fields, Nelson Mandela Stadium, “Cecilio Gallego” Pavilion, racquet area, Municipal Gym, La Mata Sports Pavilion and “María Jesús Viuda” Pavilion.
Lifeguard services will also be provided at the municipal swimming pools to ensure the proper conduct of the activity and the safety of users, as well as reception services at the municipal facilities for users involved in the activities and services covered by this contract. The annual "Sport for All" program in the city's schools is also included in this contract.
The staff to be hired amounts to 96 workers (83 monitors, 6 receptionists , 5 lifeguards and 2 service directors-coordinators).

Specifically, a total of 83 instructors for the following sports: basketball, football, adapted swimming, adapted athletics, athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball, hockey, judo, rugby, instructor coordinators, rowing, swimming, gym room, gymnastics, pilates and zumba.
Finally, Diana Box highlighted that this contract further strengthens the municipal sports model of this government team, which was revived in 2019.
