Final award of the rehabilitation works of the former La Purísima nursery school and the Francisco Vallejos Choir building for 3.2 million euros
The councillor secretary of the Local Governing Board (JGL) of the Torrevieja City Council, Federico Alarcón, announced this morning the final award of the rehabilitation works of the old La Purísima nursery school, intended for the strategic socio-economic projection of Torrevieja.
The contract has been awarded to the company TECNOLOGÍA DE LA CONSTRUCCIÓN Y OBRAS PÚBLICAS SA, for a total amount of 3,223,331.98 euros (VAT included), after having obtained the best technical and economic evaluation among the seven offers submitted to the open tender procedure.
In addition, the company has offered in its bid an increase in the warranty period for the works by 15 modules of three months, as well as a decrease in the execution period by 15 calendar weeks.
The execution of these rehabilitation works of the old La Purísima nursery school could begin at the end of next January 2026, once the contract and the site handover report have been signed.
The project envisions the comprehensive renovation of both buildings, which will be connected by a common courtyard, creating a functional and modern complex that will serve as a center for innovation, entrepreneurship and economic revitalization, with spaces adapted for business collaboration, training and creativity.
This action is part of the strategy to modernize municipal assets promoted by the government team, and which is being implemented through multiple actions included in the 2025 budget.
A CENTER FOR TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The Councillor for Heritage, Domingo Paredes, has announced that the iHub Torretech , a center for technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development, will be developed in this space. The center is designed to foster local talent and the creation of new companies. The project will be structured around two main lines of action: a Technical Office, responsible for the planning, management, and promotion of the hub, and a Talent Accelerator, which will promote training, mentoring, and the incubation of startups and innovative projects.
“ The iHub Torretech will position Torrevieja as a benchmark for innovation and entrepreneurship in the south of the province. It is a tool that will connect young people, entrepreneurs, and companies with the technological and business opportunities that our city can offer,” Domingo Paredes emphasized.
