The Parks and Gardens Department of Torrevieja City Council has carried out a comprehensive maintenance, cleaning, and improvement project in Reina de la Sal Park, located in the Los Balcones residential area. This is one of the largest and most heavily used green spaces in the municipality, and the project aligns with both the department's regular maintenance plan and the need to keep this area, used daily by residents, in optimal condition.

During the last few days, several specialized teams have intervened in this park with the aim of improving its overall condition, reinforcing security and ensuring the proper maintenance of all its areas.

Specifically, a comprehensive cleaning of the park has been carried out, including the removal of waste and plant debris, and the improvement of paths and walkways. Pruning and sanitation work has been performed on the trees and vegetation, promoting healthy growth and improving visibility and safety in the area. Maintenance and upkeep of the green spaces have also been undertaken, contributing to the better preservation of the landscaped areas.

Adaptation of the different areas of the park, such as the children's play area, sports spaces, courts and leisure areas, guaranteeing safe and appropriate use for all users.

The Reina de la Sal Park is a multi-purpose space covering approximately 35,000 square meters, combining children's play areas, sports facilities, and ample spaces for walking and relaxation. Its creation involved the transformation of a previously underutilized riverbank, integrating it into the urban fabric and turning it into a leisure, sports, and community space.

Furthermore, its name, Queen of Salt, refers to the historical and cultural identity of the municipality's salt industry, closely linked to the development and tradition of Torrevieja, establishing it as a key space for outdoor recreation, physical activity, and fostering community spirit. In this regard, the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Concha Sala, highlighted the importance of this space, which is used by countless people throughout the year, especially during holiday seasons. She also emphasized the special symbolism of the park's name and announced that the plaque listing all the Salt Queens throughout Torrevieja's history will soon be updated.

With this action, the Parks and Gardens Department reaffirms its commitment to the care, maintenance and enhancement of Torrevieja's green areas, offering safer, more pleasant and accessible public spaces for the enjoyment of all residents.
