The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the Councillor for Tourism, Rosario Martínez, held a working meeting on the first day of FITUR with the production company of the MasterChef and Maestros de la Costura programs (Shine Iberia) for the future filming of one of their episodes in the municipality.

During the meeting, held with the production company of the format, Dolón, together with the Councilor for Tourism, presented the different scenarios in the city where the program could set up the kitchens that are the protagonists of its culinary competitions.

The filming would provide significant media exposure for the city, as it is one of the most-watched programs on national television. The presence of the MasterChef team would allow the city to showcase different locations within the municipality, as well as its identity and tourism potential, to millions of viewers on broadcast television.

The Torrevieja City Council is very pleased to be among the production company's options for filming. The Councillor for Hospitality and Tourism, Rosario Martínez, took advantage of the 50th anniversary of the Hospitality Association to promote the area's gastronomy and highlight the value of local restaurateurs. This meeting is part of the destination's promotional strategy, which utilizes high-impact initiatives and far-reaching audiovisual formats. It aims to strengthen the city's image and revitalize the local tourism sector, and is part of the City Council's ongoing efforts at FITUR to further position Torrevieja as an attractive, competitive destination, ready to host major productions and nationally recognized events.

MasterChef is a competitive cooking show created by Franc Roddam. It originated in the UK in 1990 (BBC) and has been adapted in more than 50 countries, with dishes and recipes tailored to local cultures. It is currently broadcast in over 200 territories worldwide.

The program's objective is none other than to discover the culinary talent of chefs of different skill levels through challenges where contestants compete against each other to win the "golden apron" and the prestige of becoming Masterchef.

It's a nationally renowned program and a format that's very popular with all audiences. In fact, the program has several editions, such as Junior and Celebrity, featuring children and celebrities.

The MasterChef brand also promotes numerous marketing campaigns by producing merchandising products related to cooking.
